Working with the Automatic Diagnostic Repository Command Interpreter (adrci), I wanted to add a trace file to an incident package. When attempted I received the following error:
DIA-49424: Directory outside ADR not allowed
The Simple Answer: use the fully qualified name from the root directory
Explanation: When I looked up in the “help ips add file”, it instructed to use the ADR_HOME for adding a file. Which I took as the path from the “show homes” command, but that did not work. Using the the fully qualified name from the root directory resolved my issue for adding a trace file to an incident package.
